Through its projects and activities, the Association has also set an example for the textile industry and other leading sectors.

The textile industry is one of Türkiye's traditional branches of manufacturing and one of the cornerstones of the country's success in industry and exports. As a whole, Türkiye's textile and apparel industry currently ranks first among the sectors generating the highest foreign trade surplus. The industry also makes a significant contribution to reducing unemployment and improving social welfare through the employment it creates. The Turkish textile industry holds a distinctive position in the global market through its product quality, high technology and designs that have the capacity to shape fashion and trends. As a sector that ranks first among domestic parameters such as its share of GDP and use of domestic inputs, it also forms the foundation of our presence in global markets.

Türkiye continues to maintain its position as Europe's largest textile producer and ranks among the world's seven leading cotton-producing countries. Its machinery infrastructure for embroidery and lace production in home textiles is regarded as one of the world's most advanced and largest production facilities in terms of scale and capacity. Türkiye is home to the factories with the highest bed linen production capacity in Europe. In the towel and bathrobe segment, Türkiye ranks among the world's three leading suppliers, with a strong position in the global market built on quality and sustainable production capabilities. Türkiye's share of global textile exports is approximately 3 to 4 per cent, while its share in home and interior textiles is close to 4 per cent; with its production power, logistical advantages and wide product range, the sector continues to maintain its strategic importance within global supply chains.
