Chairman's Message

Esteemed representatives of the textile industry, entrepreneurs and designers shaping the future,

Textile industry is undergoing a significant transformation. Intensifying global competition, rising production costs, limited access to finance, and shifting economic conditions are directly affecting the sector. Throughout this process, our primary objective is not merely to preserve our existing strength, but to build an industry structure together that shapes the future through an innovative perspective and sustains its competitive advantage.

We now know that success depends not only on production capacity, but also on innovation, technology, sustainability and value-added production. The strategic importance of the textile industry to Türkiye’s economy, employment and exports also places on us the responsibility of leading this transformation.

As the Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association, we act with this responsibility and regard supporting projects that will shape the future of the sector as one of our highest priorities. We have continued the R&D Project Market, which we launched in 2009, under the TechXtile Challenge platform for the past seven years, adapting it to the needs of a changing world. This year, with the same enthusiasm and determination, we are proud to bring the sector together around ideas, technology and entrepreneurship for the eighth time.

Today, TechXtile Challenge has evolved beyond being merely a project competition and has become a powerful innovation platform that helps drive the future of textile technologies. We bring together ideas developed in key future-oriented areas with textile sector and transform them into tangible value. These areas include sustainability and the circular economy, artificial intelligence and digitalisation, smart textiles and functional products, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

We take great pride in having placed topics such as green transformation, digitalisation and artificial intelligence at the centre of TechXtile years before they became key priorities on the global agenda. Drawing on a strong collaboration network that brings together universities, entrepreneurs, industrialists and researchers, we continue to support innovative projects that address the industry's needs and reinforce Türkiye's export vision. The growing interest and success achieved each year are the clearest indications that we are progressing with the right vision.

This year, we once again look forward to discovering innovative ideas that will add value to the textile industry, go beyond conventional approaches and enhance our global competitiveness.

I sincerely thank the former chairpersons, members of the Board of Directors, all our stakeholders and supporters who have contributed to TechXtile Challenge’s journey to where it stands today. I wish every entrepreneur and participant joining this journey — with ideas that will shape the future — great success, and I invite you all to build the future of textiles together with us.
