The textile industry is one of Türkiye's traditional industrial sectors and a cornerstone of its industrial and export success story. The Turkish textile and apparel industry, as a whole, is the leading sector in generating trade surpluses. Additionally, it makes significant contributions to reducing unemployment and enhancing societal welfare through the employment it creates. The Turkish textile industry holds a unique position globally due to its product quality, design capabilities that influence fashion and trends, and advanced technology. In terms of parameters such as its share in GDP and use of local inputs, the sector ranks first in Türkiye and forms the foundation of our presence in global markets.

Türkiye is Europe’s largest textile-producing country. Globally, it ranks as the seventh-largest cotton producer. The machine park established for the production of embroidery and lace for home textiles is the largest in the world. Additionally, the largest duvet cover manufacturing factory in Europe is located in Türkiye. Türkiye is also one of the top three suppliers of towels globally.
